Privacy policy
Short, honest and in English. Last updated 12 July 2026.
Who we are
EventSpeed ("we") operates eventspeed.co.uk, an event hire directory and planning service for the UK. Contact for anything in this policy: [email protected].
What we collect and why
- Waitlist and contact emails. When you leave an email address, we store it with the page you left it on, and use it to send what that form promised: your kit list, a claim link, launch access or a reply. Legal basis: consent, and our legitimate interest in launching the service you asked about.
- Event briefs. When the planner launches, event details you enter (event type, dates, guest counts, site postcode) are stored to build your kit list and, at your explicit request, shared with the suppliers you ask to quote.
- Supplier and venue business details. Directory listings contain business information: trading name, location, services offered, business contact details. Businesses can claim, correct or remove their listing at any time.
- Analytics. We use privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics to count visits and understand which pages help. No advertising trackers, no cross-site profiling.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data. To anyone, in any form.
- We do not send marketing you did not ask for: waitlist emails are about the thing you joined.
- We do not use third-party advertising cookies on this site.
Where data lives
Data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (our hosting and database provider), with email delivery by our transactional email provider. Both process data under agreements consistent with UK GDPR.
Your rights
UK GDPR gives you access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection rights. Email [email protected] and we will action requests within one month, usually much faster. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if we get something wrong.
Retention
Waitlist emails are kept until launch plus twelve months or until you unsubscribe. Event briefs are kept while your account is active. Unclaimed directory listings hold business (not personal) data and persist while accurate.
